Ms Emma French
Chairperson
Emma currently works in HR with a background in recruitment, sales and training and worked for the National Youth Agency, along with a variety of private sector employees.
Emma has completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Personnel Management in 2009 and is a Chartered Memeber of CIPD. Emma feels that being a trustee for Lighthouse Learning will enable her to develop her skills at a more strategic level.
In her spare time Emma like to read and enjoys going to the cinema, although she doesn't have much free time at the moment as she is studying for her Masters in Employment Law and Practice.
Mr Peter Fowler
Peter has almost 30 years experience in education, with 16 of these as a Head Teacher of Granby Primary School in Leicester, a 450 place 3-11yr primary school.
Peter is able to offer many skills and expertise which will contribute to the work of Lighthouse Learning; Personal management, education financial management, a primary education perspective, project management, an intensive network of contact in the Midlands and a strong committment to the young people of Leicester.
In his spare time Peter enjoys various hobbies including sports, arts, theatre and gardening.
Mr Anthony Herbert
Anthony Herbert is a qualified argiculturalist and farms 600 acres at Whetstone, just south of Leicester. In addition to the main arable crop enterprise (wheat, oilseed rape and beans), the farm has a small pick your own fruit enterprise. It also specialises in farm visits - good fun and important education, for which his wife, Sandra is CEVAS accredited. There is even a purpose built trailer for farm rides, to look at crops, dairy cows and environmental aspects of the countryside, in addition to more hands on learning.
Anthony served for 22 years as trustee of Send a Cow, which improves the livelihoods of needy rural communities in Africa, which he has visited numerous times. He has four children, enjoys tennis and tries to play golf when the time allows!
Mr Mark Gray
Mark is a Director of Tassells Design and became involved with Lighthouse Learning over a year ago and became really interested in the work of the charity.
Mark grew up on a Leicester inner city council estate and appreciates how difficult it can be to pursue further education and career progression without help or guidance and therefore wanted to become more involved with the work of Lighthouse Learning.
Mark brings a wealth of experience in design, marketing, networking and working with the private sector to the board, along with a huge amount of creativity and passion.
If and when he gets any spare time he enjoys kepping fit and active and recently completed a charity cycle from Paris to London.
Ms Chloe Cummings
Chloe offers a vast array of skills to Lighthouse Learning, including legal and advisory, has ran her own business and has also helped family members set up a charity in Jamaica.
Chloe currently works for The Appropriate Adult Service, ensuring that people in police detention are treated lawfully. She also assists with the organisations administration.
Chloe also works at the Citizens Advice Bureau where she advises people about a wide range of social and legal issues. She does this on a voluntary basis and finds being a volunteer very rewarding.
In her spare time Chloe enjoys reading and is continuing her studies towards a Masters Degree in Human rights.
