PTLLS Training
Lighthouse Learning has successfully delivered PTLLS training (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) for 30 adults during March and April.
The PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) qualification is essential for anyone who would like to teach or train adults in post-compulsory education or a community setting and is accredited through NOCN.
You can choose whether to do the course at Level 3 or Level 4, and the course is the first step towards a full teaching qualification (QTLS).
During the course, you will learn about:
- Your roles and responsibilities as a teacher
- Teaching and Learning approaches
- Delivering inclusive sessions
- Session Planning Skills
- Keeping records and assessing learners
This course runs for four days (one day per week) and will be held at our premises on Oswin Road, LE3 1HR.
Assessment is though four written assignments and a practical ‘micro-teach’ session.
Course Entry Requirements
Due to the nature of the course, candidates will be expected to be able to show that they have Numeracy skills of at least Level 1 and can work at Literacy Level 2. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your ability through completion of the application form.
As the PTLLS course may lead to employment opportunities with vulnerable adults, you will also need to present a valid CRB certificate. If you cannot provide one, we can organise a CRB check for you, for a cost of £48.
